Synopsis:Smart Nam Hye-Seok, Hwang Hee University graduate who had the highest score in the nation, and Lee Eun-Seong, who graduated from a new third rate university, both applied to be resident doctors in the cardiac surgical department of the Hwang Hee University Hospital. Since they were the only applicants for that unpopular department, after some turmoil, Choi Kang-Kuk reluctantly admitted the 2 of them. The drama follows through Eun-Seong and Hye-Seok's growth as heart surgeons as well as the intense hospital political struggles at Hwang Hee with Choi Kang-Kuk at the center of it all.Eun-Seong went out of his way to help and take care of Hye-Seok after blood from an HIV positive patient sprayed into her eyes and she was weak from taking medicines while the lab works on extensive testings of whether she got infected or not. Eun-Seong's gentleness lead Hye-Seok then develops feelings for Eun-Seong despite her being sort-of dating her childhood friend who is now a super star. Would Eun-Seong return her feelings or would the differences between the worlds they live in prevent them from a "happily-ever-after"? Main Cast:
Review:There were also 3 things that bothered me: 1) I know the character Min Yeong-Kyu is supposed to have a quick temper and unfriendly, but did they have to make him act like a screaming insane maniac every time he's on the scene? Are doctors even allowed to be THAT loud? >.>...they'd give their patients heart attacks, 2) There aren't any definite "antagonists" in this drama, but basically those who go against Dr. Choi were antagonists at that point in the plot. However, one of the more consistent characters who was always against Choi was Kim Jeong-Kil, director of the internal cardiac unit. Not to spoil the story but let's just say, the turn-about of his attitude was too quick and easy it caused me to raise my eyebrows. 3) There was no real climax. Although there was a point near the end of the drama that could be considered the turn-point, Those things aside, it is an entertaining drama. Although there was not as much focus on the relationship development between Eun-Seong and Hye-Seok as normal romance dramas go, they still have some pretty cute moments without it being overwhelmingly sappy. Although there was a "love triangle"of sorts, there wasn't much clashing there. The conflicts in this drama were mainly in the hospital politics. Overall, aside from the slight weakness in the plot near the end, it was an engaging drama. I would recommend it if you want some medical drama with a bucket full of hospital politics flavored with a pinch of romance. |
